Secured and distributed hundreds of free masks to Alameda residents, KN95 masks to Alameda Hospital essential workers and face shields to the Alameda Fire Department.

Senior Services

Created a volunteer program to check in with seniors by phone and connect them with essential services.

Serves on the Board of Spectrum Community Services, which runs Meals on Wheels and provides senior meals in Senior Centers throughout AD 18 (Alameda, Oakland & San Leandro).

Small Business

Supported $600,000 in one-time grants and rent relief programs to small businesses and nonprofit organizations to keep them afloat and easing permitting and other restrictions to open up more outdoor spaces for small business operations and to allow businesses to adapt quickly to changing health directives.

Tenant Protections and Rent Relief

Protected tenants from steep rent hikes and unfair evictions and supported a rent hike and eviction moratorium for both residential and commercial tenants during the pandemic.

Funded legal services for low-income tenants.

Created rent relief program to provide up $3,500 grants to residential tenants.

Established a Safe Parking Program to provide a safe and welcoming space for people living in cars or vans parked at night. Services include bathrooms and washing facilities.

Provided shelter for elderly and medically-compromised individuals at-risk for COVID-19 using FEMA Trailers from the State.


Supported Slow Streets Alameda to limit automobile traffic on city streets to create more places to safely walk, run, bike, scooter, and roll to facilitate physical distancing and installed hand sanitizer stations around the city.

Supported $5 hour hazard pay for grocery workers during the pandemic.
